What does 1 John 4:20 mean?
1 John 4:20
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
My interpretation of this Bible verse is; how can you profess to love or believe in God who is abstract and intangible when you hate or treat poorly the people that you actually know? It speaks to the cognitive dissonance of the moral, ethical and spiritual treatment of others.
